The “Målarberget” wind farm is located in Avesta and Norberg municipality in the county of Västmanland, 150 kilometers north-west of Stockholm. The wind farm is located in a forest area owned by Sveaskog and a few private land owners. Construction of the windfarm began in the middle of 2019 and is now operating since summer 2021. “Målarberget” consists of 27 Vestas turbines with 4.2 MW each and a total height of 200m.
The project was developed by WKN’s Swedish subsidiary VKS Vindkraft Sverige AB, which will also be building the wind farm for the buyer. WKN was also responsible for the sales process and sold the project rights to the Israeli company Enlight Renewable Energy.
We are very happy about our first project in Sweden. This investment is part of Enlight's strategy to expand its activities into subsidy-free electricity markets. We are pleased to have found the WKN team to be a dedicated and professional project developer which shares our common vision and values as regards the global energy revolution.
